For those of you who still entertain yourself through Victorian means you are definitely missing the benefits of a post-Victorian society. It always amazes me how people get kidnapped at gun/knife point and are then forced to endure pain, humiliation, torture, rape, and an eventual slow death. This all stems from a fear of death, which can be used to control just about anyone who is optimistic to believe that if they can just endure long enough pain they might be spared by their captors. Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth of the matter is that this is simply not the case; the sick misogynistic violent whack jobs that are released from the prison system are hardened criminals and have no intent to return to prison. Any witnesses will be silenced permanently as soon as they used for everything that their captors deem them as being good for. You might empty our bank account from multiple ATMs, be raped, and then shot all in the span of a few hours if you are lucky. Then again you might be held against your will for seven days suffering rape, torture, mutilation, having bleach poured down your throat while you still alive, having your genitalia cut off, and then executed. The first time criminals have been trained by their brethren (usually their own family members) in crime and drugged up on ideological cocktails of race superiority, gangster culture, and narcotics. The simple truth is that these people are utter waste in society; street gangs, neo-nazis, petty criminals, they are all the same. In much the same way you must put down a sick dog down, you simply cannot rehabilitate certain individuals. It is unfortunate that this story suffered a media blackout as it has only spurred white supremacist to promote their ideals and promote a racial divide. Because of the truth of the matter are these sick people and these heinous crimes cross all cultural and racial bounds. How many times will these sick crimes happen until we “mere peasants” are afforded the opportunity to protect ourselves? There is a fine line between people who get angry and occasionally have a violent outburst and those that only control their desire to maim, torture, and kill based upon threat of incarceration.

If anyone sticks a gun in your face and says, “Do what I say or I’ll kill you” chances are this sick bastard will kill you if not worse. You then have two options, you can either fight this individual with the intent to kill and survive or submit hoping that this animal will suddenly act like a human being and use reason. If you take the later, you have a high chance of being mutilated, tortured, maimed, raped or killed (or all of the above). However should you choose to fight someone that threatens your life you could survive and forgo such a horrible experience that may very well be worse than death or be killed in a dignified fashion like a human, and not a half dead corpse covered in bleach.

Of course some people will always say, “Well I can’t carry a gun, what am I supposed to do.” Well once again, this is proof that life is about choices. We all makes choices good or bad and they should never be made for you regardless of the situation. Should you choose to always be armed, if not with a gun then a knife then you are taking your personal protection into your own hands. Whether or not this is legal is inconsequential, you are now fully responsible for your own safety. If you choose to be unarmed then you are placing your safety in the hands of law enforcement that are designed to pursue criminal activity and not necessarily prevent it from happening despite their best interest to do so. The Knoxville case could have been prevented by courage in the face of legal persecution if either Channon Christian or Christopher Newsom had decided to carry a weapon even if it had been illegally. A $500 pistol and a $200 knife could have prevented the abduction, torture, mutilation, humiliation, rape, and murder of this couple. However this didn’t happen, and all too soon it happened again to a black woman in West Virginia.

Today people spend more on fashion, entertainment, or even one simple night out on the town drinking than they do in self protection. We pay more attention to our own reflection than we do to maintaining situation awareness. We scoff at the idea of paying $2000 dollars for a handgun but have no qualms about throwing hundreds of dollars every month on cable television, alcohol, clothing and entertainment. We work so hard to achieve the lifestyle we want for us and our family yet we neglect to protect them. As Jesus once said to his disciples upon hearing the news that the Roman authorities we’re hot on their trail:

“…But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a sack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one” (Luke 22:36)

The modern man (and woman) of today are neurotic to the point of absurdity. They care more for their own sense of style and false sense of independence than their protection for fear that violating the law will result in legal prosecution. Would it have been better if Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom had carried illegally and have been arrested on illegal concealment weapons charge or had to go through the pain they did before they were eventually executed? This isn’t new; back in 2001 a similar case happened in Wichita, Kansas that was later called the Wichita Massacre. Same story but the names, dates, and faces changed.

In a world where children play video games that award the player for performing car-jacking, murder and theft is it any wonder that more and more people feel the need to arm themselves? Even still some of us would rather stick our head in the sand and pretend that the answer is passing even more Orwellian laws despite the fact that our current laws are not being enforced adequately. You know things are bad when the Jena Six has received more media coverage than the Knoxville Murders, Wichita Massacre and West Virginia attack combined. America is fooling itself if it thinks it has a race problem, American doesn’t have a race problem it has a violence problem! We are all being tricked by white supremacist, black supremacist and poverty pimps if we truly believe that all these events are tried to race. Yes race did play a factor in these attacks, but what makes these stories newsworthy was the excessive amount of violence used.

Other countries have racial problems but it doesn’t end in people being beaten up, raped, and dragged behind a pickup truck. Our legal system will punish a woman who carries a gun illegally for self defense more harshly than a man who has raped a woman. A man who carries a gun to protect his family on a casual outing will be punished more severely than a known thug with a police record that attacks a family on a weekend outing. Our justice system will go out of its way to destroy a family if a mother makes a mistake and leaves her children alone for a few hours yet they will release a child molester from prison and straight into our neighborhoods. Whose side are they on?

The thing I can’t understand is that why violent criminals with long police records are released (either on bail or probation) back into the communities they terrorized? If these people are still considered dangerous enough to warrant daily checks by a probation officer, are not permitted to own firearms, and must stay away from children then why where they released back into society in the first place? If someone becomes sick with a horrible contagious disease don’t we keep them in quarantine until ALL symptoms have passed and they are disease free; we don’t release them back into society half sick so why do we release half-rehabilitated criminals back into society? Why aren’t these people simply put to death? I find it odd that when this nation had low incidents of crime also coincides to when we used to execute people for stealing a horse (today’s equivalent would be a car). Take a good look at the list again and you will realize that today none of those offenses would result in death, but somehow we wonder why crime has gotten so out of control. Surely, its’ the music or maybe the criminals make the music? It couldn’t possibly be the concept that criminals become progressively worse and should be prevented from committing ANY crimes as quickly as possible.

Today if you steal a car you might go to jail but probably just end up on probation. I call these “revolving door criminals” agents of the Liberal Agenda. After all, how can they pass even more Orwellian laws unless they’re little minions are out and about causing death and destruction to give justification to restrict law-abiding citizen rights? It seems as though the common man is being used as mere pawns in an ideological war between the far left and the far right, with each side taking turns at abusing the average Joe in the hopes it will further their cause. I for one am disgusted by these sick and twisted power plays. The height of my anger was felt at after the Virginia Tech massacre when the Brady Campaign tried to use it as justification to enact further gun control laws and blamed those who supported this nations constitution with being responsible for the murders.

Perhaps if people in this country were less concerned about the display a blow job on my blog and more about the fact that the average child will witness over 200,000 acts of violence before they hit age 18, we would all feel a little safer in our beds. I think it is truly a sign of the eventual destruction of society when movies about senseless violence earn awards and its “action heroes” are looked up to as heroes yet pornographic films are looked down upon as decadent garbage. The advent of stylized violence on video game consoles, the glorification of gangster rap, and the rise of hate music only serves to compound the problem. Or perhaps our nations culture of violence can be blamed on our violent history, as my grandfather used to say, “We killed the Indians, enslaved the blacks, and mistreated all the foreigners, what the fuck did you think this country would form into?” I don’t know why America has such a strong cultures of violence but I do know that regardless of the majority opinion, racial politics, tragedy exploitation, and violent history, we need make self-defense our individual responsibility.

As I’ve said before, everyone has to make choices, every day, every moment. There are many of sick individuals remaining in the world and their numbers are only rivaled by the amount of twisted liberal Nazis who hope to make everyone else a victim of the former’s crimes to further push their gun-control agenda. Gun control isn’t about guns, it’s about control. While it is paramount that we must strive to build a better world and teach our youth to respect all forms of life we must also not go to the extremes of pacifism and its inherent cowardice. Proper knowledge of self defense, utilization of weapons and respect for human life does not a killer make.

This really upsets me beyond words. The Corner of National Review online had published a very distributing article about the city of Oakland. I still don’t understand why military personnel are searched and screened liked thugs. Everyone I know in the military, clerks included, have more experience with firearms and proper firearm handling then most law enforcement personnel, yet it seems that politicians and law makers continue to make this distinction between law enforcement and military. With the military being assumed to be inadequately changed and not to be trusted with firearms as opposed to the law enforcement officials.

I have always held the belief that all active duty military should be allowed to open carry, concealed carry, store their assigned weapons in their home, and be able to purchase any Class III weapon they choose without any background check. Law enforcement are afforded these same privileges yet active duty military is not. However this email is more along the lines of just flat out disrespect by the city of Oakland; that joke of a security outfit called the TSA, and liberal Nazis of California.

Sean Connery is a man, the man, and the fucking man. In today’s world of meterosexuals who spend more time in the bathroom than their girlfriend, Sean Connery is definitely a man among men. The last of a dying breed if you will. I was surprised that anyone out of Hollywood would actually have the balls to hold their ground.

Some members of this community feel that under no circumstances with the exception of personal attack, is it okay to hit a woman. Yet these same individuals find no problem hitting a man for insulting their football team, photos of their god awful children, or the concept that the world trade center was brought down as a direct result of Islamic extremist as opposed to it being an act of domestic terrorism. The point is that some people see woman in some Victorian light in which they are the weaker species to be protected. However feminism killed all of that chivalry bullshit and we we’re left with a sexless “free for all” the game called life.

Penis, vagina, in between it didn’t matter everyone had “equal opportunity” to advance, try their best, and get their ass kicked in the process. Somewhere along the line women realized they screwed up when men stopped holding doors for them, revved their car engines when they took long to cross the street, and shoulder checked them for not having situational awareness in the produce isle. As woman continued to fight for equal treatment in the workplace and society; women by proxy also were treated more and more like men. Unlike the past, women could be arrested and tried on domestic violence charges or aggravated assault on men. As such, the rules of “man” applied to everyone now and if women wanted a level playing field then they certainly got it. However we men have a 5000 year evolutionary head start. Men learn at an early age that running your mouth is grounds for getting your ass kicked and that saying stupid shit WILL get you into a physical confrontation. Women on the other hand have only honed their “trash talking abilities” while neglecting the skills needed to protect oneself from the onslaught of “ass-whoopery” that was sure to follow.

I think of myself as an open minded man who is fair and balanced. I am definitely an equal opportunity employer. I have no problems beating the living shit out of any female that starts shit with me first. After all, to do any less would be sexist and fundamentally unfair. Why should being the recipient of a good ‘old fashioned ass beating be segregated to only men, surely there are many women that should be given an equal opportunity to get their teeth kicked in? Hence, I propose in the name of fairness and as a stand against sexism that the first Monday of every September be a special holiday entitled:

“Beating the Shit Outta Some Bitch that Had That Shit Coming For Like a Month but Has Been Acting Like it Ain’t No Big Deal but That Bitch is In For A Surprise Come Monday!” Day.

The Valkyrie has spoken; there shall be no more firearm purchases this month!

To many of you this may sound as if Mr. Shore-Leave OIC is getting whipped but this is a simple mistake to make. My wife, though modest and a shinning example of both femininity and grace, is not a force to be reckoned with. Though ever so seldom does she feel the need to exert her authority when she does such actions are not to be taken lightly. So, in honor of my infinitely better half wishes there shall be no firearm purchase this month but she didn’t mention anything about bladed weaponry.

It just so happens while I was out doing some errands at the Home Depot that I should happen upon a bladed weapon that sparked my curiosity. Upon closer inspection and verification of said products actual price I was in disbelief. For this afternoon I chanced upon a full tang stainless steel Estwing Sportsman’s Axe (with sheath) hatchet for the economical price of $34.95 (plus tax). Now many of you may be saying to yourself right now, “So what?” So what? So what?! A full tang hatchet made of stainless steel is so what!

In my infinite quest to better prepare myself against the impending zombie invasion I have always sought out more weaponry to add to my ever growing arsenal of death. A hatchet or tomahawk is an extremely lethal weapon that can also double as a useful tool in the wilderness. Now some people may raise objects to that stating that a hatchet can’t be used to stab but only to hack and slash. While this is true they conveniently overlook many advantages of using a hatchet. Namely that a hatchet is usually a much heavier weapon and is wielded in such a fashion as to exert that weight more effectively. For example you need less force in order to cut something with a hatchet than you do a knife; this is why we chop wood with axes instead of knives.

A hatchet has a centrifugal force when wielded properly that makes it ideal for “hacking”. Another added benefit of the hatchet is its reach. Many hatchets have an overall length of 19” with this particular model having 16” of reach. Many bowie knives (the ultimate combat knife in my opinion) usually come in around 14” to 16” inches respectively. While a these knives are capable of stabbing and slashing movements a knife relies primarily upon stabbing in order to incapacitate its victims. A hatchet on the other hand relies upon the sheer weight and subsequent force of its blade to incapacitate its victims. A 190lb man may be able to continue fighting after a series of slashes and stabs from a knife but one good swing from a hatchet and it is all over.

I am particularly fonder of hatchets more than tomahawks even though they both rely on the same principle of centrifugal force. I view the tomahawk as an inferior design based upon the lack of weight in the blade and its reduced cutting area. The hatchet I picked up today has a 3.25” cutting edge weighing in at 2.8 pounds which is more than enough to break bone. Most tomahawks on the other hand have a 2 7/8” cutting edge or less. As hatchets and tomahawks both rely upon the weight and cutting area of the blade to be effective I naturally prefer the hatchet.

As for why this particular hatchet stood out from all the rest is that is possesses what very few hatchets have, a full tang blade. That is to say that the head and handle are all forged from one piece of steel. All steel construction is something I favor in hatchets due to the fact that if they are made from two pieces; either screwed or welded together; they may come apart during “vigorous” activity. A solid chunk of steel negates that possibility and adds to the integrity of the weapon under stress. Now there a few other companies that make full tang hatchets but they only offer these products at ridiculous prices hoping to corner the market of armchair commandos. Cold Steel offers hatchets that I don’t trust because they are made from a steel head and a wooden handle, these ranges in prices from $30 to $65 dollars. Busse makes a nice hatchet but I couldn’t find out how much they charge though I suspect its well above $300 dollars. The American Tomahawk company makes two piece tomahawks (a design I inherently don’t trust) ranging from $129 to $295 dollars. I find that all of these designs, with the notable exception of Busse, to be unsafe and I wouldn’t even dream of carrying one into a combat situation even if it was given to me free of charge. While the Busse makes a superior product I find it debatable that the cost equals its performance. For $34.95 I’ll not only keep my Estwing Sportsman’s Axe but I will take it into combat any day.

However no product is without its pitfalls and Estwing is not without exception. The axe had a few minor flaws that I wasn’t too thrilled about. The axe had a few machine marks on the blade that didn’t make me happy and the overall fit and finish left something to be desired. As this product was made in America (a very important criterion) I was a bit disappointed at this, but then again at $34.95 I don’t have much room to argue do I? The sheath can best be described as sub-par. It would be worth the money to invest in a good cordura sheath or a quality leather sheath with multiple straps and holes so that it could be mounted in a variety of ways. The one thing I did like about the design was that the hatchet could be brought “up” from the sheath, instead of drawing it down making it more readily available when it is needed. The grip itself had a thick coat of some type of enamel that had me worried for a bit. If this hatchet where to be used in field environments I would be worried about sweat or blood affecting my grip. A quick and economical solution to this would be to simply apply some grip tape and be done with it.

Some of you, usually those of you with absolutely no military experience whatsoever, may question the usefulness of actually having a “combat hatchet”. Well I certainly wouldn’t be the first to use a hatchet in combat. During WWII many Native American service members brought their hatchets and tomahawks with them into combat. These tools where more effective than bayonets for close quarters combat and served as a powerful psychological tool. In one instance a group of Native American snipers had used their tomahawks to sneak upon and then neutralize enemy sentinels. After some consideration they thought it would also be a good idea to scalp their enemy and post his mutilated body by a tree. As additional sentinels came they were so taken back by this scene of horror that it gave the American sniper the advantage of having a stationary target which to fire upon. Today it is considered “uncivilized” to scalp the dead of the enemy despite the fact that it is a powerful psychological weapon to instill fear. Instead, we drop pamphlets from 10,000 feet describing how “badass” we are and all the “cool shit” we have at our disposal.

Regardless, nothing is quite as effective a well placed swing from a hatchet. The Estwing hatchet is an incredible bargain and far surpasses many of the tacticool tomahawks and “battle axes” offered by many other big name blade suppliers. I find this tool so versatile and economically priced that I will probably go get another one this weekend, assuming Mrs. Shore-Leave grants me permission.

Every time I see this Snickers commercial I start laughing, and the best part has to be the Ford Taurus crashing the Luao. Fucking Classic!
